Dennis Scott Stewart, Stevie Hugh Stone, and Christopher Liff Daniel appeal their convictions for conspiracy to violate the civil rights of another, interference with the housing rights of another, and use of fire in the commission of a federal felony. Their three contentions are: that the district court improperly upheld the governments Batson v. Kentucky, 476 U.S. 79, 106 S. Ct. 1712, 90 L. Ed. 2d 69 (1986), challenge to one of their jury strikes, in violation of their right to exercise peremptory challenges; that their conviction on three separate counts related to the same incident violated their right not to be placed in jeopardy twice; and, that they were convicted based upon their beliefs and their association with the Ku Klux Klan, in violation of their First Amendment rights. For the reasons that follow, we reject all of their contentions and affirm their convictions.
